Exploring TVS Apache RTR 310: A Game-Changer in the 300-400cc Segment| It is a revolutionary motorcycle, that revolutionizes premium motorcycling with its stunning design, advanced features, and powerful performance.
Recently, TVS Motor Company launched the new Apache RTR 310 in India, increasing competition in the 300-400cc street bike segment. While it is technically based on the existing Apache RR310, TVS has equipped the new RTR 310 with many attractive features. If you are considering this newcomer as your next motorcycle, here are the top five things you need to know.
Manufactured with an investment of INR 50 crores, the new TVS Apache RTR 310 was launched on Wednesday at a starting price of 2.43 lakh (ex-showroom), aiming to cater to the premium lifestyle naked motorcycle market, both domestically and internationally, primarily in Latin America, Europe, and the Asian region.
TVS Apache RTR 310 clearly sets the benchmark in terms of modern features compared to the KTM 390 Duke. Firstly, it boasts a 5-inch TFT console with connectivity options and allows you to tinker with electronics. What's fascinating is the array of rider aids it offers, which can put many bigger bikes to shame. It comes with five riding modes, cornering ABS, wheelie control, cornering traction control, rear lift-off control, cruise control, slope-dependent control, glide-through function, tire pressure monitoring system, and a dual-direction quick shifter.
An all-new aluminum sub-frame combined with a steel trellis frame anchors the Apache RTR 310, which rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin Road 5 tires as standard. The suspension duties are handled by KYB upside-down front forks and a mono-shock at the rear, anchored by a single disc brake at both ends.
Although the stock hardware is already attractive, riders opting for the optional Dynamic Kit can get preload, rebound, and compression adjustability for the front and rear suspension, along with preload and rebound adjustment for the mono-shock. Furthermore, the Dynamic Pro Kit adds an adaptive slipper clutch along with ride-by-wire throttle control and a dual-channel ABS that depending on the ambient temperature, is capable of switching between a 15-degree Celsius hot or cold setting.
While the new Apache RTR 310 retains the same 312.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as its predecessor, minor refinements have resulted in slightly more power and torque than the previous model. The RTR pumps out 35.08 bhp and 28.7 Nm of torque when the RR's performance figures stand at 33.5 bhp and 27.3 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a six-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.
The design of the TVS Apache RTR 310 has evolved dramatically, showcasing an exceptionally athletic and sporty appearance. The sharp twin-pod headlamp gives it an aggressive look, and it blends beautifully with the muscular fuel tank, featuring striking air vents on both sides. The twin-tail lamps, somewhat reminiscent of the Ducati Multistrada 950 in some ways, look truly fantastic and complement the overall design beautifully. The motorcycle is available in three colors - Fury Yellow, Arsenal Black, and Sepang Blue.
Price-wise, the TVS Apache RTR 310 starts at Rs. 2,42,990 (ex-showroom) for the Arsenal Black paint and Rs. 2,63,990 for the Fury Yellow trim (both ex-showroom). If you opt for the Dynamic Kit or Dynamic Pro Kit, it adds Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 22,000, respectively, to the premium.
